Truthfully, there is no secret, no trick, no magic bullet (and you should be very suspicious of anyone who says there is).

I’m Janice Hostager and as a marketing strategist, I want to share my passion for marketing and the difference it will make in your business, so you can focus on what matters most in your life.

Marketing is complex because people are complex. And it involves SO MUCH MORE than just doing the tasks. The key to getting sales is understanding your audience and developing a strategy for each of your offers.

When I started my first business–a design agency–I was not a marketing newbie. I had worked in Fortune 500 corporate marketing, retail marketing, agencies, and many small businesses. I had done art direction, copywriting, PR, and bought many ads.

But I found that there were so many marketing tactics available as a small business owners, it was nearly impossible not to become overwhelmed as an entrepreneur.

But I knew I needed to get a vision of the BIG picture of small business marketing to successfully incorporate the smaller tactics like email, social media, and blogging. I needed a marketing roadmap.That’s how the Trail to the Sale TM was born. 

Since then it’s been my mission to help you and other small business owners harness the many parts of marketing to work together to grow your business.

A PORTION OF EVERY SALE HELPS PEOPLE IN NEED

I believe we are on the earth to help those in need. After a trip to Haiti to help rebuild homes following their 2010 earthquake, I decided I needed to do more.

That’s why a portion of every sale goes to three of my favorite charities: Compassion International, Real Hope for Haiti and Hope International. They are all outstanding charities who help people who are dealing with poverty or destruction.

Giving to others is an easy way to share the gifts we have been given and show the world we care.
